VII. Lucifer (Mark of Seidr)
An empty world lay before Lucifer as he stands upon the highest overlook, frowning at the lifeless red hills and temples once made of stone now littered with bone. A small sun neared the edge of the land--an isolated chunk of rock and blood hovering over cosmic fire--yet smog blocked most of the star's rays. Here, the demon Immortals made Hell home, as they would for eternity. Lucifer ached for company, the only companion a dark guardian. Except it wasn't enough. Perhaps his gift for a friend wasn't the right one he longed for. A few of the other Immortals always had someone to love, a mate that once gave them purpose. But with each of their children's banishment to the mortal realm, they lost meaning. They had lost their family, but the centuries-old war called for change. "It had to be done, didn't it?" He waited for an answer, but only his voice echoed about the open chamber. Though the only mortal allowed in Hell was his companion, often were they unintentionally separated.

Deep in a rainforest of mid-Western Taer'Kruor, Primae cupped cool water in her hands. Its clarity captured her gaze but vanished as she sipped from it. Next to her sat her younger sister, Duouri, though they were both much older than any in the stages of childhood. Together, they constructed a dwelling, well hidden among the enormous trees, but today they'd be bringing allied clans to their home. "They will destroy our healing ponds, Primae," Duouri said aloud in a tone where it could have been stated to herself. She, too, stared into the beautiful shining pools, a symbol of comfort in the dark. Her sister placed a hand on her shoulder to console. "Do not worry, Duouri. If any try to ruin it, they will be quite disappointed that this water can't bring the dead back to their perfect lives. When the injured arrive from the battle, they will be happy to have us." Duouri rested her head on a mossy rock and frowned. Most of the demon clans weren't as gentle as the Uitae daughters, even

IV. Moon Clan (Mark of Seidr)
Human cries echoed from a village deep in a meadow, not far from the other that burned to the ground just seven days before. Hours after the war began, the clouds unfolded the night's only light, and the Moon clan had taken the advantage of intruding the lone settlement as human knights fought with the other clans. Soft bodies collapsed at the rending, sharp blades for talons slicing through to a source of red. Hooves stepped on them, the weight too much for the human skeleton to bear as skulls caved in and ribs snapped. Few demons were large enough to swipe a line of militia several meters away, most of the clan leaner in build or shorter. They threatened the village with spears and chained morningstars, tormenting civilians until they begged for mercy. If they ever surrendered, Ek'taru knew the clan would merely continue their brutal path. An azure demon and one of strategy, Ek'taru dared not involve himself in the slaughter. Crouched upon a barrel of sealed water, he figured

Slow fog crept across the ash field, the former being of pastel greens, yellows and ochre. The human village that should have rested near a creek no longer stood, its remains flowing between rocks and about the chilling breeze. As remnants of wood and stone were eaten away to the final embers, the bright rust sun rose beyond the watchful mountains. Never were they so intimidating to a human soul. Atop a steep climb opposite more mountains appearing to carry the morning star, darkness stared at its success for destruction. They hid amongst tall boulders and leaning trees, their forms silent and cautious. Multiple pale eyes refused to blink from the shadows, keeping their gaze on what might seem a path for prey. One such predator shushed their sibling, both upside-down and hanging onto a thick branch. The rest of their clan did the same, many cloaked in the protection of leaves. It had been quiet in their presence, but not one minute away came the crackling of broken twigs and

Pallid light spotted the face of Skohtos'vha as he walked down a cool meadow. Above him rested gray branches decorated in olive leaves, their hue nearing a dark rust with the coming of change. Change, in which not only nature would perform, so would he and his people. Moving close to the largest tree, his presence awakened three figures huddling together at its base. They barely shifted in the shadows of night, almost unnoticeable to any other passing by. A pair of lilac eyes as bright as the moon opened, being at a height more than the other two. She whispered, careful not to wake them. "Skohtos'vha. My dear brother. Have the clans united?" Skohtos stood before her, rigid and concerned for what he was about to tell. He let loose a grave sigh, remaining calm in his tone. "There is conflict among the Moon clan. Too many refuses to fight with us." Radeixiel raised her voice at first but lowered in saying, "They are our numbers! Our strength! We cannot hope to win if they do not aid

Unruly fire caught the gusts of war, the wind pulling each jagged blaze down paths of blood. Its edges lowered to the ground and, turning into an alarming light, circled a mass of battered warriors before fading. They huffed at their enemies with ragged breaths, eager to get back to the battle, yet they remained still at the sound of authority. "Cease your fighting," boomed a towering red commander, overlooking the conflict from a hill. Various hostile demons turned and hissed at his intervention, but they stopped at his next words. "See to the East! Invaders march on our land." Gold bright-skinned creatures shone in the sunlight, a wall of distracting rays on the opposite side of a wide river. The luminescence pierced Rutilus's eyes before sheltering them with his claw. These were unknown lands, nonetheless an unknown world, and with discovery comes new dangers. Rutilus, the leader of his crimson clan, knew this more than any other for he was the son of King Kastae. His actions
